More about me:
I was born in Whakatane, but grew up mainly in the UK. I graduated from the University of Southampton with Distinction in Clinical Medicine in 1987. I trained in General, Community and Developmental Paediatrics in the UK and New Zealand. During this time I also completed a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Epidemiology at the Medical Research Council Environmental Epidemiology Unit in Southampton UK. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland, and I have published in the field of human development and disability.
I am the mother of two grown boys. I enjoy tramping, dancing (a definite work in progress), and mountain biking.
I think exercise can provide an important balance in life, and I am planning to cycle the length of the North Island in February 2021, see my Blog.
